More could be said
[edit]A lot more could be said about Mishin. He was a notorious alcoholic, but at the same time, one of Korolev's most brilliant engineers. He designed the R-9 missile, the upper stages of the Molniya rocket, and had countless other important jobs in Korolev's bureau. DonPMitchell 03:01, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Some remarks
[edit]Adittionally
- he contributed essentially to the R-7
he was not "fired" completely, he lost the job of the Head of ZKBEM. They still let him act as the project leader of the ASTP-one of the most ambigeous and prestigeous jobs in the organization including the close contacts to NASA, not as bad for a fallen hero
Mishin himself implicitly supported this impression that he continued his work after his fall in 1974 during an interview in the 1990s, but the real project leader has always been his deputy Konstantin Bushuyev, who died in already in 1978 (just 3 ys after the ASTP). —de:TK-lion (talk) 02:35, 22 November 2022 (UTC)- change in leadership came in 1974
- he got a full professorship at the Baumann college.
- he continued drinking until his death in 2001.
